Abigail warms up the kitchen with color...without paint
Before, this kitchen was lacking color and needed warmth to tone down the overhead flourescent lighting. Abigail custom designed window
treatments in tropical pastel shades, using the homeowner's love of
kites as her inspiration.
Abigail continued to brighten up the room by adding color to the dining table, using items found in local consignment shops. Dishes, placemats and accessories in bright tropical shades compliment the window treatments and bring out the colors in the upholstered chairs.
Abigail created a simple floral arrangement from river rocks and tall grasses to add natural textures to the room without too much fuss.
An otherwise vacant corner on an elevated plant shelf was accessorized with a globe and a harpoon found at a local flea market, adding a somewhat masculine touch to the theme.
The tropical colors add just the right amount
of warmth and eliminated the need for paint. A significant
change accomplished without significant cost.
